No.4 June 2006
Happy New Year, and almost half-gone already!
Whilst not intending to wish the rest of the year away so quickly there are dates to be considered in the immediate. Wales have offered to run the CSFED Air Gun Championships this year as part of their Open Championship weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 28th/29th October. CSFED AG will be Friday 27th October immediately prior and we already have at least 8 people who have expressed an interest in making a long weekend of it. The more the merrier! Who knows perhaps we can rekindle those heady days of the late 80's early 90's when there was always a Manx contingent attending the British Air Gun Championships which were held at Sophia Gardens, Welsh Institute of Sport, Cardiff. Great days away! If you are interested in going please let us know. It may be, hopefully!, that trials for CSFED will need to be organised.
A bit further away but which will still come around quickly enough, the Island Games in Rhodes 30th June to 6th July 2007. Shooting competitions are limited to two competitors per island. With pairs and individual events for rifle and pistol, men and women, we have the scope for a team of 16 plus official(s). Plenty of space for anyone who wants to go. Again, interested parties should let us know.
Other dates in the diary...
17/06/2006 British Heart Foundation - Blue Point – running AG range for BHF multi discipline competition.
22/07/2006 Ayre CPC Country Fair - Blue Point – running AG range as part of IOMTSF presentation on shooting. Rehearsal for RMAS.
11-12/08/2006 Royal Manx Agricultural Show - Sulby – running AG range as part of IOMTSF presentation on shooting.
Volunteers to assist with any of these events would be appreciated.
Also, some Field Target targets have been acquired with a view to setting up a “come and try” session. FT is popular elsewhere and may provide an additional avenue in the development of our sport. Further details to follow.
